Join us for the culminating performance of Shakespeare in Detroit’s 2025 Summer Conservatory, featuring a bold and vibrant youth-led production of Hamlet by William Shakespeare. This filmed performance will showcase the creativity, talent, and hard work of students both onstage and behind the scenes.
Shakespeare’s Hamlet follows the Prince of Denmark as he grapples with grief, betrayal, and the weight of revenge after the sudden death of his father. As Hamlet uncovers the truth behind the tragedy, he spirals through a gripping exploration of morality, madness, and identity — a timeless story brought to life by Detroit’s next generation of performers and theater-makers.
Important Details:
- No late entry will be allowed to the main level to preserve the quality of the film. Late arrivals will be directed to the balcony.
- The final film will be available on Shakespeare in Detroit’s YouTube channel in Fall 2025.
- Student participants (actors and crew) will receive 4 complimentary tickets.
- All other attendees must make a $25 donation via Eventbrite to secure admission. Only 100 tickets available. No exceptions.
- Parking on the Marygrove campus is first come, first served.

About Shakespeare STEAM: Shakespeare in Detroit’s STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics) program integrates classical theatre with technical and creative disciplines. From sound and lighting to costume design and performance, youth are introduced to the interdisciplinary world of theatre-making. Since its pilot in 2019, Shakespeare STEAM has expanded to offer conservatory-style training and has now awarded $100,000 in scholarships to students in Metro Detroit.
Post-Show Scholarship Ceremony: The event will conclude with a 30-minute scholarship ceremony, recognizing the outstanding dedication and promise of this year's participants.
