The entrance is on the corner of 16th and Market. Attendees will need to check in at the security booth and show ID before proceeding to the event. Please allow an extra 5-10 minutes for checking in. Security staff at the desk will call an elevator for you to the correct floor.

Description:
In this program we will explore the evolving and expanding role of the modern CFO. We’ll discuss the shift in the CFO role from that of a supportive function to more of a strategic partner with the CEO and nonprofit management. We’ll also share skills a modern CFO will need to thrive in this evolving landscape, and when outsourcing might be beneficial to supplement finance functions.

Who Should Attend:
Finance professionals interested in or currently working in the nonprofit sector.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe the traditional role of CFOs in nonprofits and the transformation of the CFO's role due to changes in technology, expectations, and the financial landscape.
  2. Explain the importance of CFO-Executive Director partnerships and how effective communication and collaboration between the two enhances organizational agility and resilience.
  3. Identify the skills needed for modern CFOs, when outsourcing could be beneficial and what to consider when outsourcing.

Attendees will earn 1.0 CPE credit in Finance.

In order to be awarded the full credit hours, you must be present, and check-in to register your attendance and departure in person at the registration desk.

Speaker Bio

Suzanne D’Angelo With over 25 years of experience in nonprofit financial management, Suzanne D’Angelo has helped organizations navigate complex financial challenges, implement efficiency improvements, and strengthen their accounting structures. As a Senior Manager at Your Part-Time Controller, LLC, she has served as an Interim CFO for multimillion-dollar organizations, led financial assessments, and trained finance teams for greater effectiveness.

Holding an MBA from Penn State University and a BA in Business Management with a concentration in Accounting from Gettysburg College, Suzanne combines academic expertise with real-world application to provide insightful and actionable strategies for nonprofit professionals. Her experience spans financial department restructuring, software conversions, scenario planning, cost accounting, and board training, making her a trusted resource for continuing education in nonprofit finance.
