I personally believe that the external discord we see present in the collective is a reflection of inner discord. I believe many of us are at war with ourselves on the inside, feeling stuck or trapped by circumstances of suffering. We have become disconnected from who we are, our value, and purpose.
I do not think our human lives are meant to be full of anxiety, suffering, and emptiness. I think this is the opposite of what we came here to experience. You are not the darkness, you are the light—here to experience joy, freedom, pleasure, and purpose.
You are the only one who can choose to pursue these things, and it requires a connection back to yourself and who you are.
If you’re anything like me, it can be a challenge to connect back to yourself. We are taught to be so externally focused, to care more about the people around us and the material world, that we neglect what’s happening inside us. Most of us don't care enough about our own experience and sacrifice our joy to meet the demands of the status quo. We deny fundamental parts of us because we don't want to be different or weird, but that's exactly what we came here to do! A life of freedom, joy, passion, and authentic purpose is on the other side of knowing and owning who you are. There's no one else out there like you.
To connect back to who you are, you must go inward. The problem is we often doubt what’s going on inside of us and question our own truth.
