<h2>Summary</h2><p><em><strong>Your Matplotlib is trash. Is that your fault?</strong></em></p><p>Not really; it has a wildly verbose API and it's easier to make some nice-looking statistical plots right out of the box using higher-level abstractions like seaborn. </p><p>But what if you need to go beyond what 1 or 2 function calls can provide to you in a chart? What if you need to create complex layouts of many charts, provide contextual zooming, create annotations across multiple `Axes`, or embed legend information into other aspects of a chart? You’re probably left scouring the Matplotlib examples or hoping that someone has had a similar problem on StackOverflow. </p><p>Thankfully, that ends today. Join Cameron Riddell in this short seminar where he takes one chart from trash to treasure. He’ll iterate on various design aspects, discuss where the original chart falls short, and demonstrate the matplotlib concepts and code needed to make it better.</p>

Prior to joining our team, he worked in academia studying various aspects of psychology, including the neural activity underlying social interaction, perception of taste, and human memory. His studies naturally led him to learn Python, which he has been writing for over 8 years with a strong emphasis on data analytics and scientific communication.</p><p>As our resident pandas &amp; matplotlib expert, Cameron takes a uniquely data-driven, analytical approach to his work and research. He enjoys sharing his knowledge both in and out of the classroom; in fact, he is ranked in the top 4% of all answerers on Stack Overflow.
