Fiasco Theater, with partners Broadway Babysitters and the Parent Artist Advocacy League (PAAL), is very excited to launch a new initiative in spring 2024: Play|Ground, a series of dynamic workshops for performing artists with free, onsite, arts-based childcare!
About Play|Ground
Adults deserve the opportunity to play as much as children, and play is integral to our growth and sustenance as artists! We know how difficult it can be, especially for artists who are caregivers, to find the time and resources to prioritize play as part of their artistic practice. Enter Play|Ground! Taught by members of Fiasco’s Faculty, Play|Ground workshops will be rooted in play, embodied practice, and community. Free childcare is available (with advance sign up) for children ages 3 months to 12 years, facilitated by Broadway Babysitters. Each workshop will include refreshments, a community gathering, and resources from the Parent Artist Advocacy League (PAAL). This workshop series will center artists who are caregivers of all kinds, but registration is open to all. Play|Ground is supported with funding from DCLA.
