About this event
You Can’t Take It With You written by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman
Directed by Katie Devin Orenstein
Produced by Emma Hart, Cassidy Gyetvan, and Andy Petrilak
In the summer of 1936, things are finally looking up for Alice Sycamore: she has a good job, she’s dating a great guy who happens to be the boss’s son, and the Depression might even be ending soon. Everything will be perfect as long as her boyfriend and future in-laws never, ever meet her family…or see her sister “do ballet” accompanied by her brother-in-law on the xylophone, or read one of the plays her mother wrote, or catch sight of her grandpa’s pet snakes, or god forbid her father shows them one of the fireworks he’s cooked up in the basement…George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart’s Pulitzer Prize-winning, gut busting romp about what’s more important— material success, or genuine passion and joy— has never lost its relevance.
