Event SynopsisFlow induced vibration and acoustically induced vibration are distinct phenomena which creates the risk of failure of critical pipework in the process industry. This presentation outlines how engineering analysis can be used to calculate the fatigue life of critical components and identify what changes are needed in the structural arrangements of critical pipework that may extend its operational life.Speaker BioDr Simon Rees is a director of Norton Straw Consultants, a Fellow of the IMechE and Chair of the IMechE Upstream Oil &amp; Gas Committee. He has over twenty-five years’ experience of applying advanced engineering analysis methods across the chemical and process, nuclear, aerospace and power generation sectors.
