Organized by

The North and South Rivers Watershed Association, Inc. (NSRWA) is a non-profit grassroots environmental organization located on the South Shore of Massachusetts. The NSRWA was founded in 1970 and has grown to more than 1,500 members today, comprised of individuals, families, businesses, and other environmentally-concerned organizations. The membership comes primarily from the 12 towns within the watershed: Norwell, Hingham, Scituate, Marshfield, Hanover, Pembroke, Whitman, Hanson, Duxbury, Weymouth, Rockland and Abington plus Cohasset and Hull. The NSRWA was created by a handful of river-lovers bound together by an intense devotion to the natural beauty of the area and a strong commitment to protect these natural resources for their own and future generations.

OUR PURPOSE IS TO PROTECT OUR WATERS: We believe that an educated and engaged citizenry will result in healthy rivers and watersheds, thus Educate + Engage = Healthy Rivers.

Our goals are to:

EDUCATE; to serve as the primary source of watershed information in the region and to provide each student with at least one first-hand watershed experience.

ENGAGE; to strengthen our river based recreation and volunteer service programs to connect people to the rivers and watershed, and become a primary source of information for family outdoor activities.

HEALTHY RIVERS; to inspire a community of stewards dedicated to a healthy and vibrant watershed through our own on the ground restoration projects to show people what a healthy river system is and how it supports the health of their community.
