YARD TREE GIVEAWAY 

Penn State Philly is a group of Penn State Alumni dedicated to serving Philadelphia through community service, scholarship, networking, and events.The Share Food Program is a nonprofit organization serving a regional network of community organizations engaged in food distribution, education, and advocacy.

Penn State Alumni Philly Chapter and SHARE Food Program

Sign-up for a FREE tree for your Philly yard! On Saturday, April 13, 2018, Penn State Philly is teaming up with SHARE Food Program to host a Tree Philly Yard Tree Giveaway. Register for a tree and/or become a volunteer.

<LI>Free trees for you to plant in your Philly Yard.</LI>
<LI>Planting Workshops</LI>
<LI>Meet Penn State Alumni, Share team members, and neighbors</LI>
<LI>Be a part of restoring Philly's tree canopy </LI>
</UL>
Priority will be given to those who register for a tree in advance with a preference to those living in the Hunting Park neighborhoods. Most trees will fit into cars, but we cannot guarantee. Our volunteers will be there to help show you how to plant and care for your tree as well as help you load it into your vehicle. Our young trees will be in fabric pots with branches reaching 4 feet to 8 feet in length, depending upon the species, so please plan accordingly. 
Requirements for Trees:
<UL>
<LI>Must be planted on private property (not along sidewalk/street)</LI>
<LI>Must be planted in the ground (not a container)</LI>
<LI>Must be planted in the city of Philadelphia (preference in North Philly neighborhoods)</LI>
<LI>Must be planted within 2 weeks after recipient gets tree </LI>
</UL>
If you wish to volunteer to help us giveaway trees please select the "Volunteer" ticket and someone from the Penn State Philly Alumni group will be in touch with you.
