YAMsession 2016

Jeunesses Musicales International (JMI)is the world’s largest network of youth and music organisations with members in over 70 countries carrying out 40,000+ activities annually, outreaching more than 6 million young people. Founded in Brussels (Belgium) in 1945, JMI works tirelessly to enable young people to develop through music across all boundaries. JMI’s activities are built upon the principles of access to music for all, development through music education (formal/non-formal/informal) and increasing active participation in society through music.JMI works for and with youth, empowering them with the tools they need to succeed, using the power of music to bridge social, geographical and cultural divides and create an international platform for intercultural dialogue and acceptance.Marked for Musikk (MFM)is an annual showcase event where professional artists present music productions/concerts aimed at a young audience (0 to 18 years). In addition, the event hosts a seminar with a current topic. MFM is a collaboration between Vestfold County Council and Larvik Council, and was organised for the first time in 2010. The main aim of the event is to contribute to increased access to professional music of high quality for young audiences.2016 will be an extraordinary year for MFM, as we will be hostingYoung Audience Music (YAM) Session 2016 (www.yamsession.org)– a European event and a part of the EU project Blackboard Music Project. YAM Session is a European arena for concert showcases, talks, networking and more, and we expect 50 producers and concert bookers from 10 European countries, as well as 150 Norwegian delegates.

YAMsession (Young Audiences Music session) is an annual international event for creative professionals working in the field of young audiences development. 
Whether you are a musician, a programmer, a producer, a booker, an educator or an organiser, this is the one event that you don’t want to miss!

YAMsession takes place in a different country every year and includes <A TARGET="_blank" HREF="http://www.yamsession.org/#!showcases/c1x6u" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">showcases of the best young audiences productions</A> from Europe and the world, a dynamic <A TARGET="_blank" HREF="http://www.yamsession.org/#!producers/c1kw9" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Producers Forum</A> and a wide range of thought provoking presentations and discussions from international <A TARGET="_blank" HREF="http://www.yamsession.org/#!speakers/c1t79" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">speakers</A>. Delegates shall also have the opportunity to enjoy the <A TARGET="_blank" HREF="http://yamawards.org" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">YAMawards</A> Ceremony, where the world's best music productions for young audiences are crowned.
This year's session takes us to the coastal town of Larvik in Norway from the 25th to the 27th October.
