This two day workshop is aimed at novice programmers at wvu to give them  the tools in R to help automate their research .

Details: The RO in conjunction with WVU Libraries is offering a two-day  in person workshop on the programming language R. The workshop is hands on and covers basic concepts and tools and is appropriate for beginning users and those who want to learn about git as well.Who: Faculty, staff, graduate and undergraduate students.Where: Downtown Library L 104When: Saturday and Sunday, January 21-22, 2023 from 10 to 6Software Carpentry aims to help researchers get their work done in less time and with less pain by teaching them basic research computing skills. This hands-on workshop will cover basic concepts and tools, including program design, version control, data management, and task automation. Participants will be encouraged to help one another and to apply what they have learned to their own research problems.Participants must bring a laptop with a Mac, Linux, or Windows operating system (not a tablet, Chromebook, etc.) that they have administrative privileges on. They should have a few specific software packages installed. An email with the programs needed and instructions will be sent out before the workshop.The $10 dollar fee for the workshop will payed back to the attendees in the form of refreshments and food for both days of the workshop. any questions comments and concerns can be addressed to Kyle Billings at krb0073@mix.wvu.edu
