WUFF 2016 Special Second Screening Program!

The Workers Unite Film Festival is a celebration of Global Labor Solidarity.The Festival aims to showcase student and professional films from the United States and around the world which publicize and highlight the struggles, successes and daily lives of all workers in their efforts to unite and organize for better living conditions and social justice.We are a not-for-profit  501(c)(3) organization

<H3>Due to popular demand WUFF has added a very special evening of programming next Thursday. This special screening series will re-present previously sold out shows, allowing a second chance to bring these fantastic films to a wider audience. We start @ 5:30 with <STRONG>'American Reds'</STRONG>, followed by <STRONG>Kathleen Foster's</STRONG> <STRONG>'Profiled' </STRONG>@ 7:00, with the director on hand for a Q&A after the screening.  Next up is <STRONG>'Finish Line: The Rise and Demise of Off-Track Betting'</STRONG>, which will be followed by a Q&A with the director <STRONG>Joseph Fusco</STRONG>. And we will close the evening with <STRONG>'Vertical Slum'</STRONG> @ 10:00pm, a feature on the Confinanzas Tower in Venezuela.<BR></H3>

<DIV>A feature on the Confinanzas Tower in Venezuela (also known as the Torre David) which depicts how, in the midst of a housing crisis, ordinary people have taken an abandoned, unfinished luxury housing complex and repurposed it for themselves.  Vertical Slum explores how architecture reflects ideology, and uses this structure as a case study of the huge social, economic and political changes of the past three decades of Venezuelan history.
