Breakout Sessions (4:00 - 4:40pm & 5:00 - 5:40pm)

1) Entrepreneurship from the Ground up!

Connect with young, emerging and established Brampton entrepreneurs with practical and relevant advice on how to launch a business in a rapidly changing business world. Hear about their challenges, learn from their mistakes, ask them questions and be inspired by their experiences.

2) Civic Action! The Democratic Power of Youth!

Unlock the collective democratic power of youth through civic action to build a community of engaged citizens who want an inclusive, connected and proud Brampton. Be inspired by how Vision Brampton brought together a group of more than 20 youth and young-professional grassroots Brampton organizations to form a Young Brampton Coalition focused on a better and more inclusive Brampton for everyone! Featuring Marilyn Verghis, Founder and Executive Director of Vision Brampton

3) The Law and You - A Pathway to Understanding and Action

Understanding your legal rights as an individual can be difficult, as a youth it’s even more challenging. The legal landscape can be confusing and sometimes even intimidating. Join Alex Battick, Lawyer & Notary Public as he discusses the legal world as it relates to you. Not only will you have a chance to hear from Alex on his personal journey, his insights and advice but you will also have a chance to table your questions and concerns in a safe space.Join us to help you know your rights!

4) 7 Seconds to Make an Impression!

Employers spend approximately 7 seconds scanning your resume in their first pass through job applications. In those few seconds you need to clearly demonstrate how your skills, experience, education and competencies match what they are looking for. 7 seconds isn’t long to make that kind of impression. In this session you will learn what employers look for in a resume, and how to brand yourself. Hosted by Natasha Pisani Talent Acquisition Advisor @ The City of Brampton.

Youth Social (7:00 - 9:00pm)

Featuring a keynote speech from Canadian singer-songwriter and Juno Award nominee Peter Katz!

Celebrating youth in our community through an evening of live entertainment, inspirational speeches and community recognition – join us for our youth social! Starting off with light refreshments at 6:00 p.m. our guests will then transition into the recently reopened LBP Theatre where they will be regaled with the rhythmic talents of A New DAEI dance troupe, inspired through the words of youth advocate Orlando Bowen, and serenaded by local musical talents. This is your night – make the most of it!
