Ekphrasis Writing with Kailah
Overview
The trees, the grass, the sky; everything is poetry. Let's explore how nature can be the catalyst for creative connection.
Participants will be led by creative thinkers and poets in a workshop embracing how experiences in natural environments connect us to creative expressions, increased literacy skills, and a higher appreciation for the world around us. Each workshop has a different theme and facilitator, allowing participants to experience literacy in a new way.
Kailah Trice is a Jamaican-American author from Atlanta, Georgia. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in sociology from Tuskegee University, and her MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Alabama. She writes children’s poetry and writes about her upbringing in Jamaica and America. She has been published in Wingless Dreamer’s Breathing Poetry, Dewpoint Digital, online on Girls Write Now’s website and elsewhere. When she’s not writing, you can find her being amazing (in her own opinion) at video games, cosplaying, or baking her favorite desserts.
