About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Queens is known as the most diverse county in the United States. As our country grapples with issues of race and immigration, the stories from our borough have an important role to play.

This spring, a group of 8 writers from Queens honed their narratives and developed their voices at the Lewis Latimer House's Memoir Workshop on Race and Immigration. We will celebrate the conclusion of the workshop with readings by the participants. Join us for an afternoon of memoir, and hear the incredible stories they have to tell!

The event will be facilitated by the workshop instructor Abeer Hoque and will feature readings by: Fortunie Cookie, Isabel Diaz, Gail Dottin, JoliAmour Dubose-Morris, Sumaiya Hernandez, Maya Reyes, Jessica Tang, and Sonam Wangmo.
