About this event

  • 2 hours

Join us at the Short Path Distillery to shake up your writing soul! If you already love writing, or want to try your hand at the craft, this workshop is for you. (Each workshop hosted at SPD will offer different material.)

We'll use written and visual prompts to stretch our writing muscles. The takeaway can be a new piece you're proud of, discovering new tools to fuel your creativity, or just enjoying the writing zone with others. (This is not a critique group.) You can use fiction, non-fiction, poetry; whatever style speaks to you. The main goal is to write with gusto! We'll share some of our responses to the prompts throughout the class. Please bring a notebook and pen/pencil (or computer if you prefer). We'll be in the barrelhouse - a quiet space for us to create and share.

About the organizer:

Katie Lueders hails from Mass and gravitated toward writing from an early age. She developed her own writing voice with a local group for years, continuing on to explore other workshops/classes in the Northeast. In CA she served as the Workshop Facilitator for an open mic poetry community for several years, reading her poems on the mic often. She has led grief writing workshops for The Compassionate Friends, also serving as a Newsletter Editor for one of their chapters. Currently, Katie facilitates writing workshops around Beverly, MA, and looks forward to writing with others whenever possible.

About the venue:

Short Path Distillery is a small-batch craft distillery founded in 2015. Our cocktail bar is an extension of our production facility from which we serve our house-made craft cocktails. We pride ourselves on creating exceptional cocktails made with fresh ingredients that appeal to all audiences. From hand-juiced citrus to freshly made syrups, our team excels at making delicious drinks that show off our unique 20+ spirits. Feel free to go up to the bar before, during, or after the class to order cocktails. Bottles, merch, and other items are available for purchase to-go from our retail store.
