In this presentation, we will take a deep dive into high-quality IEP goal writing. We will discuss writing comprehensive Present Level of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance (PLAAFP) sections, review the components of a SMART(ie) goal, and discuss best practices for progress monitoring. The training will include opportunities for practice, collaboration, and discussion. Participants are encouraged to review the current sources of student data that inform their IEP writing in preparation for our session.
Session Objectives:
Participants will be able to identify the elements of a PLAAFP section.
Participants will be able to write SMARTie IEP goals based on Present Level statements.
Participants will be able to utilize strategies and organizational tools to develop a sustainable progress monitoring plan.
