Overview

Give your child the opportunity to turn curiosity into compelling storytelling!

Join the Write To See Summer Program!

Give your child the opportunity to turn curiosity into compelling storytelling. Through FotoFest's partnership with Shift Press, youth will explore journalism as a creative tool for self-expression, civic engagement, and positive change. Workshops use movement journalism and civic journalism to help participants develop their voices, sharpen their reporting skills, and imagine future careers in media.

All participants will complete the program with:

  • An outline of their own op-ed that focuses on an issue in their community
  • A story of self they may use to galvanize their peers, arts community, and local leaders
  • A self-portrait paired with the topic of their story of self

The program concludes with an exclusive opportunity for participants to publish their stories on Shift Press, giving their work a public platform.

Registration is $150 (plus Eventbrite's fee of $11.90). Registration fee includes provided lunch and swag.
