Write and Wander: Creative Writing Workshop

Writers will receive a nature-inspired writing prompt that will send them on a creative adventure into history and nature.

Join creative writing coach Amelia Fontella from Get Inspired Workshop on a journey through writing and nature at Esta Barrett Manor & Gardens.

Participants will receive a nature-inspired writing prompt that will send them on a creative adventure into the gardens, woods, or fence rows of the 1917 country estate and farm. You may walk a mile of trails, enjoy a sunny spot in the sunken garden, or simply relax and admire nature from our expansive screened-in porch.

You will gather back in the manor afterwards to reflect on our experiences and, optionally, share your writing. This workshop will inspire writers of all experience levels to find fresh joy in the writing process and challenge participants to look at the natural world through new eyes. So, grab your pen and notebook and let’s go!

The session will begin with a brief overview of the historic site and a map to lead you on your way. Staff will be available throughout the morning to share historic content and guide participants around the site. Snacks and bottled water will be provided.

Get Inspired Workshop is the brainchild of Amelia Fontella, a renaissance woman who loves growing through creative experiences. Amelia has been teaching creative courses since 2007. Amelia loves teaching, talking about, and wondering about all things creative. While she’s primarily a writer, she dabbles passionately in art, music, and theater.
