Stacie is someone who never thought of herself as a writer. Through numerous volunteer activities and her career, she writes - alot. Still, she didn't think of herself as a writer until she took John's workshop in Sequoia National Park in the summer of 2019. John's repeated demonstration of simplifing the stages of writing helped release her of old writing constructs and helped her gain an understanding of how fiction can play a role in empathy. Stacie is still working on refining her writing and is excited to bring this workshop to Davis.

<DIV>John Brantingham will help you to refine your writing skills, teach you the ropes of publishing, and assist you with getting your work out into the world.</DIV>
<DIV><BR></DIV>
<DIV>This workshop will use flash writing techniques so that any writer can create publishable, new stand-alone pieces from their current writing. Brantingham will help writers develop stories that are interesting to niche and mainstream audiences. You will learn how to market and send out your work effectively.</DIV>

<DIV><BR CLASS="Apple-interchange-newline"><SPAN>John Brantingham was Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks’ first poet laureate. His work has been featured in hundreds of magazines, Writers Almanac and The Best Small Fictions 2016. He has ten books of poetry and fiction including The L.A. Fiction Anthology (Red Hen Press), Crossing the High Sierra (Cholla Needles Press) and California Continuum: Migrations and Amalgamations (Pelekinesis Press) co-written with Grant Hier. He teaches at Mt. San Antonio College.</SPAN></DIV>
