Would You Rather sees designers square off on big issues impacting our world, from accessibility to the environment and the rise of AI.

Would you rather embrace deep-fake technology, or destroy it forever? Design single-mindedly for accessibility or for aesthetics? Be an influencer that says nothing, or an author who nobody reads?Make design awards free, or ban them altogether?Over the course of an evening, Would You Rather sees designers square off on some of the big (and little) issues impacting our world and the role of designers in shaping it. From accessibility to the environment and the rise of AI, Would You Rather will expose and unpack what we value most and why. For each Would You Rather question our audience and experts will pick their side before and after our experts weigh in. Anyone can change their answer at any time, with live results displayed on screen throughout the night. Will minds be changed, or unmoved? At Re, he holds the position of Design Director leading the Optus and Sydney WorldPride accounts. He is also the co-chair of the M&C Saatchi Group’s LGBTQIA+ Employee Led Network, Queer&Proud.A﻿thalia Foo - Recognising its people at the centre of design, Athalia combines her experience in digital marketing strategy with content experience design to frame business and user needs and deliver innovative, user-led outcomes. Her values-driven approach and passion for social justice is what drew her to her current role at Today. No matter the task, Athalia always brings empathy, curiosity and enthusiasm along with her.D﻿arcy Smith - Darcy is a game designer and director who specialises in games that make you think. As the co-founder and game director of Studio Folly, he is currently working on their wild debut title, Gubbins. Alongside his Folly-related pursuits, Darcy is currently serving on the board of Freeplay, Australia's longest running games festival, and lecturing at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA).E﻿mma Clegg - Emma is one of the co-founders of JAM the label, an inclusive fashion brand designed with people with disability in mind. Working in the disability sector for the past eight years as a Disability Support Worker and Occupational Therapist, inspired her to start JAM to amplify the message that everyone deserves the opportunity to look and feel good in the clothes they wear.V﻿icky Lam - Vicky is an Associate Lecturer at RMIT School of Architecture and Urban Design. Her design experience in urban projects in Australia and in the US led to an interest in graphic representations of urban environments. Her research and teaching explore how architectural drawings and animations can represent the aspects of our built environment that can be hard to visualise: hidden systems, cultural narratives, and transformations over time. Vicky’s role in coordinating Design Studios at RMIT Architecture has informed a keen understanding of emerging ideas from the architectural design community.
