World Fish Migration Day: The Migration Celebration

Join The Nature Conservancy and other members of the Long Island Sound River Restoration Network (RRN) to celebrate World Fish Migration Day, a day dedicated to migratory fish and their role in our ecosystems. The afternoon will include a river walk, a social and networking free flow period, the premiere screening of “Reconnected: Restoring the Rivers of Long Island Sound,” and a panel discussion with the experts and advocates. You may register for each activity separately.


The Long Island Sound River Restoration Network (RRN) is a group of environmental conservation organizations working to restore stream connectivity across Connecticut and New York including The Nature Conservancy, Save the Sound, Housatonic Valley Association, Farmington River Watershed Association, Trout Unlimited, Connecticut River Conservancy, American Rivers and Seatuck Environmental Association.


This is event is made possible with support from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Lower Farmington and Salmon Wild & Scenic, and Northwest Park.

Frequently asked questions

How difficult is the walk along the Farmington River?

This is an easy to moderate walk with some incline and terrain. It is approximately 3 miles round trip.

What do I do if I can no longer make it to the event?

You are able to edit your tickets up until the day of the event. If you have a last-minute cancellation, please get in touch with the event organizer at The Nature Conservancy. Feel free to join us remotely via the Zoom link for the live stream of the film screening and panel discussion.

Will the film screening and panel discussion be recorded?

Yes, and we will make that link available after the event to all registrants.

Is this event wheelchair accessible?

Some parts of the venue are accessible to wheelchairs and scooters. Those include the outdoor pavilion space and indoor auditorium. We are also able to transport guests from the parking lot to the pavilion and auditorium in a golf cart. Please let us know if you require this accommodation.

Yes, we work with local media channels to showcase this event and the work of the RRN. Please note that there will be event photographers and videographers capturing content at the event and your attendance confirms your consent of photo release.
