At bitgrit, we aim to foster a world of open communication and knowledge sharing in the world of Data Science. The World Data Science Forum (WDSF) represents one of our efforts to do so. A conference-style event featuring prominent figures from the worlds of academia, government, and industry, the WDSF provides a glimpse into the diversity that can be found in the world of data science -- nurturing connection and conversation between figures across different verticals and sectors.Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 of the WDSF, hosted in 2018, were both simultaneously held in India and Japan, meaning that speakers and audiences were present in two venues at once, facilitated through a video live stream. For Vol. 3, we have made a leap from the East of Asia into the Middle East –– now hosting the WDSF in Dubai, a global hub of innovation and technology.WDSF Vol. 3 in DubaiThe theme of the third WDSF is "Data Science for Good." We envision this World Data Science Forum as a place for constructive discussion into the applications of data science in the following categories.1. AI and Social Good2. Environmental Protection/Global Warming3. Alternative Energy4. Community Activism5. Social Disparity, Minorities, and EqualityGuest speakers include Cansu Canca, Todd Terrazas, Professor Eiad Yafi, Tanya Rawat, Oliver Hall, and more.
