Whether you have a specific project in mind or you just want to add another skill to your DIY repertoire this workshop is your starting place. You'll learn how to transfer your design to a silk screen and then make a print with your custom screen. You'll leave with a ready-to-print screen with the one color design of your choice (that can be used to print over and and over again), a t-shirt with your design printed on it and mostly the skills to take future screen printing projects from start to finish.
*If you want to print your own design you need to be sure to send us your black and white image as a high quality jpeg by Wednesday, May 9. You are welcome to bring additional items to print. We'll provide you with one t-shirt, but feel free to bring additional 100% cotton materials to print on.
**We have two student spots for ages 15-22 at a $50 rate.
About Katie: Katie Cooper is a creative director running her own freelance business, Real Tenacious, in Memphis, TN. The majority of her career has been spent designing and screen printing apparel. She has worked with a number of organizations across the country ranging from schools, businesses, to non-profits. For her, screen printing all started in the back of a small office kitchen. If you catch yourself in Memphis, you're highly likely to see one of her shirts floating around.
