NE Seattle Tool Library

Come into our Woodshop to work on your personal woodworking projects after completing our Woodshop Orientation. Woodshop Open Hours is designed to give you the space and tools you need to complete your projects. Regardless of your experience, there will be a knowledgeable Woodshop Steward available to provide machine-based guidance and ensure your safety while you work. They may also be able to provide some project guidance.What to Expect:<ul><li>Applicable tool operation refreshers (as needed) to get you started safely and confidently</li></ul>What to Bring:<ul><li>Your project idea, pictures, sketch, or plans (digital or paper)</li><li>Any materials you’ve already sourced</li></ul>Prerequisite:You must take the Woodshop Orientation class before using any type of Woodshop Open Hours. <a href="https://www.eventbrite.com/e/woodshop-orientation-tickets-1451194133719?aff=oddtdtcreator" title="https://www.eventbrite.com/e/woodshop-orientation-tickets-1451194133719?aff=oddtdtcreator">You may sign up for an Orientation here</a>. If a Steward is available, they will get back to you confirming one of the requested times.We also recommend filling out our <a href="https://seattlereconomy.app.neoncrm.com/forms/class-notification" title="https://seattlereconomy.app.neoncrm.com/forms/class-notification" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Class &amp; Event Notification Registration form</a> and checking "Woodshop Open Hours (Woodshop Orientation Required)" to be notified when we post a Woodshop Open Hours next.If a time within a currently listed Woodshop Open Hours works, but you cannot make it within the first 5 minutes of its start time, please email ava@seattlereconomy.org, and we can try to work with your availability. Please make sure to check that there is an open spot and include the date/time of the instance in your email.Cost &amp; Donations:We charge a $15 access fee to the shop and recommend a donation of $15 per hour of usage. Your donations help keep our Woodshop open. You can pay for any additional time via a QR code once you’ve completed your time in the shop.Safety &amp; Supervision:All shop time is supervised. Our instructor and Woodshop Steward volunteers will help you use tools safely. Email us at ava@seattlereconomy.org if you have any questions on Woodshop usage.ACCESSIBILITY:<ul><li>Much of the NE Seattle Tool Library interior is wheelchair accessible. All entrances have ramps that may exceed a 5 degree slope. The all-gender restroom is quite small and not ADA compliant.</li><li>Non-English and ASL interpreters are not provided at our classes and events, however attendees are welcome to bring their own interpreters.</li><li>Please contact us with any accessibility notes or requests.</li></ul>GETTING THERE:<ul><li>By transit: Served by King County Metro bus route 372 stopping along Lake City Way NE at NE 98th St. Route 61 stops at NE Northgate Way &amp; 23rd Ave NE and is a ½ mile walk from the tool library.</li><li>By bike: There are multiple bicycle route options available to the tool library, and you are welcome to stow your bicycle inside the tool library during your visit.</li><li>Car parking: There is a gravel parking lot that fits about 10 cars, and an asphalt parking lot that fits 5 cars. There is no ADA accessible parking.</li></ul>
