The New Jersey Council for the Humanities harnesses the power of the humanities to strengthen our pluralistic society.The vision of NJCH is a New Jersey that delights in diversity, appreciates that there are no easy answers, and finds joy and understanding in the humanities.How is this done?  By enabling public programs and humanities experiences that deepen our understanding of ourselves and our world. NJCH is a grantmaker, program provider, partner, convener, and innovator. New Jersey Council for the Humanities

Action Grants support the implementation, continuation, and expansion of public humanities projects in New Jersey. If you're thinking about applying for an Action Grant from NJCH, this might be the perfect workshop for you. Whether you are ready to do something new or sticking with a successful model, this workshop will get you ready to submit a competitive proposal for your program.
During the first half, Director of Grants & Programs Gigi Naglak will provide an overview of the Action Grant program as well as the application process.  
In the second half of the workshop, participants will discuss their potential projects in small groups and receive and provide feedback about prospective grant proposals.  This type of informal collaboration will help to clarify project purpose, audience, and process.  Discussion will align with the NJCH grant applications so that everyone will leave the workshop one step closer to being ready to apply.
All participants should review the Action Grants section of njhumanities.org prior to the workshop and prepare notes or an outline about their potential humanities project.

Intent to Apply: February 1 - February 22, 2019 Drafts accepted: Through March 15, 2019 Application Deadline: April 4, 2019 Award Notification: By June 28, 2019 Projects Begin: No earlier than July 1, 2019
