"Matcha Time for Mindfulness" Workshop Date: June 11th, 2023, SundayTime: 1-2 pm and 3-4 pmWe are delighted to announce the return of "Matcha Time!" Join us and embark on a journey of tranquility at the "Matcha Time for Mindfulness" workshop. Discover the art of making matcha tea and find an oasis of calm in a bustling world. Immerse yourself in serenity and experience the meditative practice that provides a refreshing escape from the demands of everyday life.We will provide both traditional Japanese confectionery and non-Japanese traditional sweets. You will make 2 or 3 bowls of matcha to practice. During the workshop, you will have the opportunity to learn:1. About Matcha: The origins and benefits of matcha, the vibrant green powdered tea.2. The Importance of the Way of Tea (Tea Ceremony): Discover how the tea ceremony serves as a path to mindfulness, cultivating focus, and creating a sense of peace and awareness.3. Etiquette when Drinking Matcha: In order to relax and enjoy matcha, be aware of these manners before drinking a bowl of matcha.4. Matcha Preparation by yourself: Gain practical skills and step-by-step guidance on preparing matcha in the comfort of your own home. Master the art of whisking and serving matcha, ensuring an authentic and delightful experience every time.We will use special tea bowls created by Kifumi Kawamkur at Kichuyo kiln which is a traditional climbing kiln, located in Kamakura. It is the birthplace (13th century) city of Japanese Zen. It once belongs to one of the famous ceramic artists Rosanjin Kitaoji.
