WORKSHOP: Interviewing the Intimate: Interview Techniques

How do you create a space where people feel comfortable enough to share their stories? How can you ensure, as a journalist, that you remain faithful to what someone has entrusted to you?

This workshop, led by Camille Bouissou and Briseida Mema from Agence France-Presse (AFP), invites students to explore the art and responsibility of interviewing.

Through discussion and practical exercises, participants will explore journalistic ethics, professional conduct, and practical interview techniques, with a particular focus on building trust and creating a space where personal stories can be shared openly and respectfully.

The workshop offers an opportunity to develop interviewing skills while reflecting on the responsibility that comes with listening to, documenting, and telling someone else’s story.

The workshop is limited to 15 participants.
