Workshop: Dynamic Object Work

Workshop: Dynamic Object Work

Mettlesome at Golden BeltDurham, NC
Saturday, Apr 11 from 1 pm to 3 pm
Overview

In the world of improv, object work can make a scene more engaging to watch and can even help drive the Game.

Workshop Description: Imagine watching a movie where someone stands still and talks the whole time. Not very engaging, right? Similarly, improv without object work falls flat, leaving scenes less engaging and dynamic.

In the world of improv, object work can transform a scene. It makes a scene more engaging to watch, informs the improviser's movements, and can even help drive the Game.

This workshop will focus on:

  • Breaking the habit of a "talking heads" scene.
  • Creating more believable object work.
  • Initiating with object work.
  • Using object work to explore your Base Reality.
  • Using object work to rest the Game.
  • Better object work habits.

Prerequisite: Improv 101 or an equivalent improv course.

Workshop Length: 2 hours

What Should I Bring? Wear comfy clothes and closed-toe shoes fit for movement. Please bring a notebook and pen/pencil. Bring a full water bottle.

Please read our Lab FAQ & Policies and Covid Policies before signing up for a class or workshop.
