Our Lunch & Learns and Workshops are great for companies who would like to introduce staff members to a new area of tech, those wanting to get some extra education in, new computer science students or those looking to transition their careers to tech.

ABOUT WORKSHOPWhat are Data Science and Machine Learning? Why are they so hot right now? From the basic of Python to the complexities of machine learning, there is much to learn about becoming a skilled and versatile data scientist. Join Flatiron School Data Science Instructor, Rafael Carrasco, as he breaks down the basic of what Data Science is, how it&#x27;s used in the tech industry, and answer any questions you have along the way. No experience or prior knowledge necessary! ABOUT INSTRUCTOR<a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/rafael-carrasco/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Rafael Carrasco</a> studied Math during undergrad and later received his Masters in Mathematics from Southern Methodist University and his Master’s in Education from Notre Dame. He worked as a teacher for low income nonprofit schools and later wrote high school math curriculum. Rafael switched to data science with a position at Bank Of America, but missed education, so returned to teaching with Flatiron School. Using his background in both data science and education, Rafael teaches our students how to fall in love with learning.ABOUT PARTNERFlatiron School trains passionate, creative people so they can launch a new career in code, data science, or cybersecurity. It’s our goal to show students that programming is more than the mechanics of writing code or a route to a fulfilling career. It’s a collaborative endeavor that can help them find work they love. Founded in 2012, Flatiron took their classroom online in 2015 with Learn.co, their proprietary, gamified online learning platform, expanding access to our programs to people around the world.
