Workshop Date: Tuesday, July 11. 1pm – 4:30pm ET (US &amp; Canada)Coaching Hour and Small Group Peer Discussions: Thursday, July 13. 1pm – 2:30pm ET (US &amp; Canada)<h3>ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP</h3>Much of the attention on data in collective impact initiatives focuses on the sometimes ominous “shared measurement system.” While shared measurement is an important component of the data activities of collective impact efforts, it is but one aspect of the data landscape and may divert attention from equally important data-related activities. This workshop will explore data needs, activities, and strategies across different phases of a collective impact initiative, and how these data activities can support decision-making, learning, continuous improvement, and evaluation.The workshop is split into two parts: a half-day workshop on July 11 and a 90-minute session where participants can engage with faculty in further Q &amp; A and peer discussion on July 13.Who is this workshop designed for? This workshop is designed for participants who already have an understanding of the key foundations of collective impact, but are newer to doing the work of embedding data and learning practices in their collaborative work.Lead Faculty: Courtney W. Robertson serves as the Director of Programs and Partnerships at the Collective Impact Forum where he is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of programming that supports individuals, backbones and communities engaging in collective impact work. Courtney has a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector including work in adult learning, coaching, facilitation, training design and implementation, and project management. His professional experience has focused on building the capacity of direct service organizations to engage in collaborative and collective impact work by focusing on access to and use of data to inform practice and navigating organizational change by addressing adaptive and technical challenges. Prior to his role with the Collective Impact Forum, Courtney spent seven years at the education nonprofit Seeding Success, based in Memphis, TN, most recently serving as the Director of Operations supporting staff by focusing on internal culture and climate; identifying, managing, and standardizing systems to improve workflows; and partnership management. He also led the organization’s DEI efforts and supported training development and delivery in Results-Based Facilitation, Data Use for Continuous Improvement, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, and Understanding Boundaries of Authority, Role, &amp; Task. He also held roles as a Network Facilitator and Manager for School Improvement at Seeding Success, managing a team of Data Analysts working with 15 secondary schools in Memphis-Shelby County Schools to more effectively leverage data to drive interventions, practices, and policies to improve chronic absenteeism and behavior.Junious Williams is Senior Advisor at the Collective Impact Forum and the principal of Junious Williams Consulting Inc. (JWC), a firm specializing in research, policy analysis, collaboration facilitation, program development, and assessment focused on increasing equity and social justice. He has worked extensively over the past 25 years on a variety of multi-stakeholder, multi-sector collaborations and collective impact initiatives providing guidance and support in design, implementation, facilitation, management, and program improvement for initiatives spanning issues from full-service community schools to cradle-to-career pathways; from opportunity youth education and employment to improving outcomes for boys and men of color. He holds a Juris Doctorate in law and a Bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Michigan, where he also pursued graduate studies in education administration. From 1998 through 2016, Mr. Williams served as president and CEO of Urban Strategies Council, a social justice impact organization in Oakland, California.<h3>Frequently Asked Questions</h3>Is this workshop in-person or online? This is an online workshop. We will be using Zoom Meeting for this session.What timezone is the workshop held in? The workshop is held in Eastern Time (US &amp; Canada.)What will the July 11 workshop entail? This 3.5 hour workshop on July 11 will include a mix of presentation, Q&amp;A, and small breakout group discussions with attendees. There will be a short break planned during the workshop.What does the July 13 Peer Discussion and Coaching session entail? This 90 minute session on July 13 will be a mix of small group (breakout) discussions related to the workshop content the day before as well as more time to ask questions from workshop faculty. Will the workshop be recorded? The workshop presentation and full group Q&amp;A on July 11 and the full group Q&amp;A time on July 13 will be recorded and shared after the workshop with those who registered. Small group breakout discussions of both workshop sessions will not be recorded. Recordings will be shared within one week of the workshop. Recordings are available for three months after the workshop.Should I attend if I joined a previous session of Data and Learning in Collective Impact workshop? This workshop will be similar to past ones we held on this topic. If you have attended this session in the past, or attended our Champions for Change backbone workshop, we would recommend this session if you are looking for a refresher of that content, or as a new learning opportunity for your teammates or partners. If you are not looking for a refresher, but for a completely new learning experience, we recommend exploring our other workshops.What accessibility practices will this workshop be using? We will have Zoom auto-captions on for this workshop and coaching hour. (Please note that auto-captions are available in the main zoom room, but not in small discussion groups. If this is an issue, please reach out to us.) In the days ahead of the workshop, we will send out copies of any workshop presentations or handouts. After the workshop, we will share recordings of the workshop presentation, participant Q&amp;A, and faculty coaching hour.
