Who is the course for?

Anyone who is interested in learning about  local biodiversity or just wants to be in nature for a few hours. No previous experience required. Some workshops are more physical than others, please inform us if you have any access requirements and we will advise which session is best.

What level of fitness / ability is required to participate?

We aim to make them as accessible as possible. If you have mobility issues or other physical needs please get in touch, so we can see how your needs can be accommodated.

What do I bring?

For the workshops you will be outside for a few hours, so do bring a water bottle and any drinks or snacks you need to keep you going.

What do I wear?

For the workshops you might get a bit dirty, so please do wear comfortable clothes and shoes, that are also appropriate for light gardening in (boots ideally), we highly recommend you bring waterproofs incase of rain.

What if I have allergies?

Accepted Answer

Please advise us of any allergies in advance. We do not recommend signing up for this course if you suffer from any type of severe allergic reactions, as we will potentially be handling nuts and other plant materials.

Will you be taking photos?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but you can absolutely opt out of being included in them. Please do let us know on the day if you do not wish to have your photo taken.

Do I have to stay for the whole session?

Accepted Answer

For this workshops we would prefer you to stay for the whole session, as you will get the most from that. However, there is a lunchtime drop in that is free flow, all welcome for any amount of time. A good one for those that are curious and just want to pop in.

What happens if I can't make it?

Please cancel your ticket, so someone else can take your place, we have limited spots and there may be people a waitlist.

What happens if the weather is really bad?

Accepted Answer

If the weather looks severe, we will aim to cancel and rearrange the workshops in advance. However, things can change on the day and if it's not looking safe for us to be outside, we may have to end the workshops early.

Is there parking?

Sadly there is no parking available at Begbroke Science Park, please arrive by public transport, bike or foot.
