Working With CNCs
Overview

This is a perfect class for anyone looking to get into CNC Routing and or looking for some advice & guidance with Vectric’s V-Carve Desktop.

This is a perfect class for anyone looking to get into Computer-Numeric-Control (CNC) Routing and or looking for some advice & guidance with Vectric’s V-Carve Desktop design software. Students are encouraged to bring their laptop with them to the class that already has V-Carve on it to follow along with our instructor. If you do not have V-Carve and are looking to get into CNC Routing, download the free trial version from the Vectric (www.vectric.com) website. Participants will learn: 1) the mechanical setup of a CNC system; 2) how to create a basic V-Carve design’s graphic and text; 3) how to manage the V-Carve Tool Database; 4) how to create, edit, and view the “tool paths”; and 5) save those tool paths in the G-Code used to control the CNC’s machining process. In this class, we will design a small catch all tray. Once the file is created, we will cut out the tray on the CNC. Reserve your seat today.

Important Info:

  • Ages 14+ — minors (14 up to 18) must be accompanied by a non-participating parent or guardian (parent attending with a minor does not need to purchase a separate ticket) throughout the entire class
  • Class is beginner-friendly — no prior experience needed
  • All necessary safety equipment is provided
