Working Different, Being Different

Working Different, Being Different

Overview

Join us for a screening and conversation on neurodiversity, access, and belonging in the arts.

You’re invited to a campus screening and conversation centered on neurodiversity, access, and belonging in higher education and the creative fields. The short film Bear follows Jude, a neurodivergent student facing a high-pressure college interview, where subtle social tensions—and an unexpected, literal “bear in the room”—reveal how academic spaces often demand conformity over understanding. The documentary Working Different expands the conversation, featuring voices from students, educators, and creative professionals who confront the barriers built into education and media—and make the case for accessibility as a shared benefit, not a special accommodation. Together, these films open space for dialogue about inclusion, systemic change, and how campuses can better support diverse ways of thinking, learning, and creating.
