How businesses, nonprofits and the City of Philadelphia are collaboratively solving the region's workforce challenges. This informative networking event and panel discussion is for leaders and others in the nonprofit sector, business, government, and education who are interested in workforce development.

"Workforce development" enhances a region's economic stability and prosperity by focusing on people and essentially develops a human-resources strategy. Our panel of experts will discuss how agencies, investors, employers and educators collaborate to implement programs to enable people to learn the skills needed to obtain employment, start businesses and develop their capabilities. 
This event is co-hosted by two Philadelphia firms, Jane and Throw Like A Woman, Consulting with Social Impact featuring:
David Wragg, founder of Insight Human Capital Partners, brings his leadership development and coaching talents to nonprofits. COO of Throw Like a Woman, Consulting with Social Impact, a woman-owned consulting firm advising and supporting nonprofit organizations that represent underserved communities. Everett Reiss,  Co-founder of Jane. Jane is the talent partner for small businesses and nonprofits. Jane provides busy business owners and nonprofit leaders with a personal hiring specialist who sets up and manages the recruitment process for them as an extension of their organization.

Our panelists include:
Christine Derenick-Lopez, PHR Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Philadelphia
Christine's career is characterized by HR leadership and public service. Christine was the Chief of Staff at Philadelphia International Airport while serving as President of the Philadelphia chapter of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). Christine also held a senior HR role in the pharmaceutical industry before most recently returning to work for the City of Philadelphia and is currently the Chief Administrative Officer.
Lucy Ford, Ph.D. Assistant Professor, Saint Joseph's University
Lucy teaches Human Resources, research methods, teams and leadership at undergraduate, graduate, and executive levels and directs Saint Joseph’s undergraduate Managing Human Capital (HR) program. Prior to this significant Philadelphia-based role, Lucy served on the faculty at Rutgers University. In addition, she has a thriving HR consulting practice.
Lisa Pote, Executive Director at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy
Lisa is a relative newcomer to Philadelphia having joined the Beck Institute as Executive Director in 2015. She brings significant knowledge and experience in leadership, nonprofits organizations and workforce development. In Tennessee she led the mid south office of Seedco, a  major workforce, community and economic development nonprofit and prior was VP for The Center For Nonprofit Management in Nashville.
Phil Walker - Director of Business Development for Year Up
Phil’s career includes corporate sales for Fortune 500 companies, franchise business ownership, founder of three business start-ups, board member for non-profits and member of the 1978 NBA World Champion Washington Bullets.  At Year Up, Phil engages with major corporations to address their talent management needs. He is also Co-founder of The Redemption Project.
