Please join the District of Columbia Workforce Investment Council (DC WIC) as we Celebrate Workforce Month!

The DC WIC is partnering with Indeed and the Markle Foundation to support a national “Ready to Work” event series. Ready to Work is a coalition of civic leaders, community-based organizations, and brand partners dedicated to empowering all job seekers-- especially those facing barriers to employment--with the support, tools, and opportunities they need to find better work. A few of the committed partners include Glassdoor, Lyft, Care.com, Goodwill and The Rework America Alliance.Ready to Work is visiting five metro areas across the U.S., including Chicago, Detroit, Washington, DC, Los Angeles and Dallas/Ft. Worth, to host a digital hub and in-person events, where they will provide job seekers with access to hundreds of thousands of job postings, interview coaching, resume building, skill-building courses, and much more. In addition to partnering in the Ready to Work event, DC WIC is hosting a Workforce Champions Roundtable on September 22, 2022 from 1:30 to 3:30pm. The DC WIC will be joined by guest speakers from our partners at Indeed and the Markle Foundation, who will share insights about local economic and workforce trends, and lessons learned from Rework America Alliance’s national efforts. We will also highlight efforts by local DC businesses to implement inclusive talent development approaches, and preview skills-based hiring resources launching this fall.The Roundtable will be held at the Office of the State Superintendent of Education, located close to Union Market at 1050 First Street NE. Roundtable attendees will receive a link to attend the Ready to Work Event as our guest, to learn about the resources and services being made available to our community. Space at the Roundtable is limited so please RSVP no later than 9/21/22.We thank you for your contributions to the DC Workforce System and hope you will be able to join us!
