Basic Income Ireland is a group of people who support the idea of every legitimate citizen in Ireland receiving a basic income that would facilitate at the very least a frugal but dignified life.

Basic Income Ireland invites you mark International Basic Income Week 2017 by joining us at our Annual Forum. 
The Forum will start with a short introduction to Basic Income, with questions and answers.
In the morning session, a highly participative format will give every participant a chance to contribute to thinking on the forum’s theme of work and basic income.    
In the afternoon, author and film director Gerard Stembridge will moderate a discussion about the ideas that have emerged during the morning and will act as ‘keynote listener’ for the day.
Gerard was born in Limerick, educated at CBS Sexton Street and at University College Dublin, and began his directing career in 1985 working as a producer/director with RTE, the Irish national broadcaster. He left in 1990 to allow more time for writing. Since then he has written for film, TV, theatre and radio, frequently directing his own work. 
Many people's first encounter with Gerard was from his work on Scrap Saturday – co-written with Dermot Morgan. (RTE 1990-1992). He has also written 5 novels the latest of which "What She Saw" was published in 2017.
This is a free event with a light lunch provided. Voluntary donations towards room-hire and lunch expenses will be accepted on the day.
