Intro to Adobe Photoshop CS5 + Mixed Media Art Making

This workshop is perfect for you to bring in a logo, flyer or photography idea. We will have a lounge working environment, coffee tea and snacks will be provided; all you need is your laptop(BYOL). We'll have a projected screen to walk everyone through the many tools with in Photoshop, as well as one on one lessons and end the workshop with some hands on collaging! Requirements:<ul><li> Must to willing to download the Free Trial or have the Program</li><li> Selection of reference images</li></ul>Projects to bring:<ul><li> Logos - Sketches or ideas, color schemes</li><li> Flyers - Information text, color schemes </li><li> Photo Editing - High-resolution image (300 dpi), marketing purpose </li></ul>Workshop begins with a discussion of goals for the course and introduction of the 15 main tools in Photoshop. I'll begin the course with One on One direction, then you'll dive into Solo Work sessions to experiment with your projects. Theres enough time for breaks and conversations!After working with Photoshop we will recap the tools learned and ask any questions. We will end the workshop with hands-on mixed media art making. Supplies will be provided.______________Meet the Host:_________________Yakira Valerio was born into a family of joyful Dominicans in the Bronx who soon after  returned to capital of her motherland, Santo Domingo, DR. Raised in the heart of her Latin roots, the nature, the culture and the beauty of Dominican Republic planted the seed for her artistic abilities. After 8 years, her family returned  to the states, settling in Miami, where she bloomed into the grounded and dynamic artist she is today.​"Art helped me communicate and express the emotions that I was going through in my every day life."Realizing that art was her language, Yakira became devoted to helping others achieve their creative goals. Still based in Miami, she works with variety of clients on creating wellness spaces, project management, interior remodeling and now releasing her series of wellness workshops.Over the past 10 years, Yakira has practiced yoga and meditation in classes or at home. These practices have inspired her to teach art and design in a similar methodology used in yoga. Where one is asked to check in with their needs, commit to their growth and learn at their own pace.
