Sandy Miller, Singularity University ~empowering startups to innovate and grow

Sandra Miller is an expert in entrepreneurship education. She is Managing Director for The Angels' Forum, a group of angel investors in Silicon Valley and is Co-Chair of Entrepreneurship at Singularity University. She played a major role in the formation and growth of two world-renown entrepreneurship education programs: Kauffman Labs for Enterprise Creation and the Stanford Biodesign Program.

At Singularity University she launched and managed Singularity University Labs, an accelerator with a portfolio of globally distributed startups involving technologies such as 3D printing in space, peer-to-peer car sharing, synthetic biology, and telepresence robotics.

Eugénie Rives, Google[x] ~stealth mode

Eugenie is Operations Manager at Google[x], the team working on projects like self-driving cars, energy kites, smart contact lenses and Internet from balloons. Eugenie has been at Google for 9 years managing Operations across different countries and regions.

She grew up in Paris, has a degree in applied mathematics, a Master in Business and Management and graduated from Singularity University in 2010. She now lives in San Francisco with her husband entrepreneur (met at Singularity), and her baby boy.

Pilar Manchón, Intel Corporation ~creating speech recognition for the future

Pilar Manchón is a gen-X female pioneer who is changing the face of natural language processing, artificial intelligence and multilingual virtual assistants. A native of Seville, she co-founded Indisys and the company was later acquired by Intel for more than $30 million.

Paola Santana, Matternet ~revolutionizing drone transportation

Paola is an entrepreneur, lawyer and public policy expert. She is Co-founder and COO at Matternet, a Silicon Valley startup creating the world’s next generation transportation system using networks of flying vehicles.

A Fulbright scholar, GoodxGlobal Tech Fellow, Gifted Citizen awardee, and graduate from George Washington, Georgetown and Singularity University, her work aims to enact comprehensive regulatory frameworks and commercial ecosystems allowing the first networks of flying vehicles for transportation in the world.

Previously with the World Bank, the OECD, the Dominican Republic’s National Elections Court and Constitutional Court, she has developed striking public infrastructure projects and designed strategic plans to integrate advanced exponential technologies into E-Government platforms.

Paola enjoys exploration, disruptive thinking, philosophy, and the arts, and dreams of advancing the human race forward.

Kathryn Myronuk, Singularity University ~economist and synthesis & convergence expert

Named one of CNN’s Top 7 Tech Heroes to Watch in 2015, Kathryn Myronuk is an expert on exponentially growing technologies and how they empower world-changing ideas. As a founding staff member at Singularity University (SU) at NASA Research Park in Silicon Valley, she has led efforts in the building of this new school which deliberately shifts its participants from one field to another, creating connections that build innovative solutions to solve global grand challenges. She has designed curriculum and worked closely with interdisciplinary and international participants and teams in all six of SU’s 10-week programs and in their many shorter programs.

As staff she served in multiple roles, including Director of Research, from 2009-2013. She is now on faculty, leading SU’s Synthesis and Convergence curriculum track and guiding finance and economics curriculum. Her areas of interest and teaching include the value of synthesis, effective interdisciplinary teams, and the complex set of factors affecting the future of jobs.

She has spoken about exponentials and convergence at AAAS, DLD, WiredUK, the Stockholm Resilience Centre and the Karolinska Institute. She has also consulted for organizations like the Orange Institute, The Institute for the Future, and SU clients like UNICEF and Hershey's. Her research is featured in two New York Times bestselling books: Ray Kurzweil's The Singularity is Near (2005) and Peter Diamandis & Steven Kotler's Abundance (2012). Previously she worked as a research analyst and energy economist. She holds degrees in Zoology and Agricultural Economics from UCDavis.
