About this event

Whether you’re looking to earn extra income or replace a paycheck from a lost job, freelancing can help you pay your bills. When you work for yourself, you’re in charge. And understanding the ins and outs — from finding work to paying your taxes — is the key to making it work.

No matter your experience level, you can count on expert guidance from AARP Foundation, which offers the following free webinars to help you find success as a freelancer.

You are signing up for a free course with a total of 4 live 2.5 hour sessions that serves to teach you how to start earning income as a freelancer. The following is included when you sign up:

Digital copy of the Work For Yourself@50+ Freelancing Workbook which serves as a guide during the sessions.

Sessions start on 03/09/2023 that will be hosted every Thursday from 1:00-3:30pm ET for the duration of the 4-week course, ending on 03/30/23. These webinars serve to introduce you to freelancing and allow you to ask questions in a collaborative learning environment.

At the end of the 4 weeks you will have:

  • In-depth knowledge of how to be a freelancer including documents with how to create a successful proposal, a lean business model, an income calculator, and more
  • Connection to work platforms to get started with obtaining your first client
  • Access to a LinkedIn Peer Support for further alumni support
