About this event

Bring the family and your knitting needles and a personal knitting project, or join in on creating fun monthly group project. Kids are welcome and their is space to play and enjoy some nature connection, while also engaging in handwork practice and exposure.

In 2013, Brie Wakeland received a 200 hour yoga instructor certification in Rishikesh, India. In 2020, she completed an advanced 300 hour yoga teacher certification through Wanderlust Hollywood. She has practiced privately for over 20 years and has taught in group settings since 2013. Brie's mission as a yoga instructor is to help guide individuals through a practice which encourages a deeper connection to one's body, breath, and mindfulness.

Brie Wakeland is a UCCE Master Gardener and a Garden School Foundation Garden Educator within two Title 1 Elementary Schools in Los Angeles. Brie is passionate about sustainability, creativity, culinary arts, health, and wellness. She studied under the late Chef Ernest Miller, and became a certified food preservation instructor through Slow Food in the Spring of 2017. The same year Brie attended the Sandor Katz Fermentation Residency Program in Liberty, TN. Brie also teaches cooking and gardening at A Place Called Home, Los Angeles County Arboretum, Gourmandise School, and within the Los Angeles Public Library network.
