We are thrilled to welcome your child to Woodcreek High School and are eagerly anticipating their presence at our 9th Grade Orientation Day on August 1st at WHS. Our Link Crew Program is designed to ensure that your 9th grader begins their high school journey on a positive note and experiences a smooth transition. We can't wait to help your child kickstart their high school adventure!

Event: 9th Grade Orientation Day at Woodcreek High School

Date: Thursday, August 1st

Time: 12:30 PM - 5:30 PM

Location:

  • Check-in: Large Gym (Check-in begins at 12:30 PM)
  • Freshman Parent Meeting: WHS Theater (5:00 PM - 5:30 PM, no registration needed for parents, only for freshmen) The parent meeting is an opportunity to meet the administration team. If you cannot attend, you won't miss any critical information.

Important Information:

  • It is recommended to arrive for registration no later than 12:45 PM.
  • Freshmen will receive a sweet treat at the end of the day. Donations are appreciated to cover our costs and celebrate freshmen throughout the school year. 100% of your donation will go directly to the freshman class.

About Link Crew:

  • Link Crew is a nationwide program that connects 9th graders with positive and responsible 11th and 12th graders called Link Leaders.
  • Link Leaders will help freshmen feel comfortable and support their success in the first year of high school.

Next Steps:

  1. Register your child for the event to assist us with logistics for the day.
  2. Students are encouraged not to bring backpacks, purses, or similar items as the day is active. Water bottles and snacks are recommended. Feel free to bring those items in a small bag.
  3. Please ensure that your child wears comfortable clothing that allows for easy movement. *If your child requires staff assistance based on their IEP (just for this event, not for the school year), please notify us at dmoore@rjuhsd.us after registering. 
  4. Just like in class, cell phone use is not allowed but your child may have it with them. This is a student-only event however, parents are welcome to attend the Parent Meeting.
