“Wood” You Join Us?-Joinery All Types

This lecture / demonstration will introduce you to the variety of methods available to join / connect pieces of wood together. On-screen visuals, discussion, and hands-on demonstrations using pre-made samples of many of the methods that are available to the woodworker will be covered. Included will be a comparison of strength of joinery, decorative techniques, tools and jigs used as well as the difficulty to produce. Types of joinery covered include pocket hole, spline, corner spline, half-lap, dowel, cross dowel, bead-lock, biscuit, tenon, dovetail, and box joints to name a few! This class will help you advance into the different advanced joinery classes we offer as Make & Take. You will also receive a Woodworker’s Journal DVD titled “Accurate Router Joinery” (while supplies last). All class participants receive a 15% discount on merchandise purchased in the store on the same day of their class. Exclusions Apply. Students should come properly attired for a woodworking class (tight fitting clothing, long hair restrained and constrained from the face); and bring or wear provided industry standard hearing protection and safety glasses during equipment operation. All woodworking classes are held in a store that sells a wide variety of woods, including exotic woods such as cedar, aromatic cedar and other products (e.g., finishes, cleaners, etc.) that may cause allergic or other reactions in a small number of cases.
