About this event

This class is an introductory class to the woodturning lathe. This class will go over the lathe, operations, how to use it, what to use when doing what project, safety, and the anatomy of the tool itself. You will leave knowing how to operate it safely, and be completely ready to take a more in depth class, or buy your own and start turning at home!

Frequently asked questions

Are there any age restrictions for this class?

This class requires the use of power tools, which requires the attendee to be 14 years or older. Attendees below 18 years must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or legal guardian throughout the entire class. If a parent or legal guardian is required to attend, only 1 ticket is required.

Do I need any safety equipment or special clothing?

Safety glasses or face shields, hearing protection, gloves, and dust respirators will be provided free of charge as needed. No loose clothing should be worn, long sleeves should be rolled up, long hair should be tied back. No open-toed shoes can be worn during classes.

I'm interested in a class that is not scheduled, do you offer custom classes based on my interests?

If you are interested in a private class, custom class tailored to your specific needs, or a special group class, please call your local store and speak directly to a Manager. We'll do our very best to meet your requirements while providing a great experience.
