Here at The Boat House of Cape Coral we present to you our Women on Waves Course, we teach you the skills you need to naviagte the open waters. Each class provides a unique experience that is catered to empowering women who are interested in joining the boating community!


Women on Waves January Course Schedule:

101 Class Monday June 3rd | 8:30AM-11AM

102 Class Wednesday June 5th | 8:30AM-12PM

103 Class Friday June 7th | 8:30AM-11AM


The Boat House Cape Coral designed this exclusive Women on Waves Course to get women confidently behind the helm and enjoying the boating lifestyle. This is a 3-Day Course in which you need to purchase one boarding pass per attendee. Each class is taught by Captain Steve who currently holds a U.S. Coast Guard certification along with a 50 Ton Masters license.


Each class delivers a fun and hands-on approach that is guaranteed to elevate your boating experience. This laid back approach provides safe education to become a better captain of your own vessel - no matter how large or small the vessel may be. Currently, we'll be using a Hurricane 2400 for the course. After each class, please feel free to stick around for Q&A, snacks, lunch, & beverages!



Women on Waves 101 Class, June 3rd:

-Captain Steve is behind the helm

-Vessel terminology / anatomy

-Line handling / knot tying

-Best practices

-Rules of the water

-Channel marker navigation

-Vessel operation / handling

-Safety

- Best first mate practices

Women on Waves 102 Class, June 5th:

-You are behind the helm (Captain Steve still has control of the vessel)

-Vessel operation / handling

-Shift / throttle control

-Planing the vessel

-High speed maneuvering

-Crossing wake

-Channel marker navigation

-Trimming motors

-Reverse stopping

-Q&A, snacks, lunch & beverages


Women on Waves 103 Class, June 7th:

-You are behind the helm (Captain Steve still has control of the vessel)

-Quick refresher of 101 and 102

-Close quarters vessel operation / handling

-Docking (port / starboard)

-Q&A, lunch, snacks, & beverages
