"Centering and Balancing After Trauma: A Work-Life Struggle"

The WHUHTS Conference will be held May 19, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Come to collaborate and network with members of regional California Community College at all levels and local women business owners. This conference is an opportunity for classified professionals, students, faculty, and administrators to share, discuss, and learn about this year’s theme: “Centering and Balancing After Trauma: A Work-Life Struggle” and on improving the professional lives of women collectively and individually at community colleges. WHUHTS is an affiliated event with the AAWCC whose mission is to change women’s lives through education, service, and leadership development.

Many of our vendors are returning for this event.

Forms of Payment

For individuals and groups of less than 5, you may pay by credit card or check. If paying by check, your payment is due within 2 weeks of registration. All payments are due prior to the start of the conference.

Groups must have an identified point of contact for registrants and payment. All members of the group must be registered individually. Transfer of registration is available until May 8, 2023.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

By completing the registration process, you are agreeing to pay the full conference fees. In the event that you need to cancel, your cancellation request will need to be submitted in writing to WHUHTSConference@gmail.com on or before May 1, 2023.

Cancellations after May 8, 2023, will incur the complete registration cost.

Refunds or will not be offered after May 8, 2023.

Registration transfers will be accepted in writing up by May 8, 2023.

If the registrant does not cancel, transfer registration or does not attend the conference, the institution will be billed and held responsible for the full payment of the registrant.

"Students" refer to individuals who are currently attending, taking classes, and are active at a community college. This is not for college employees. Conference attendees who are students - must list an active college student email account when registering.

Accommodations

Accommodations can be provided upon request for people with disabilities, provided the request is made at least seven days prior to the event. Please contact Dana Emerson at 714-745-6052.

Please inform us of any food allergies you may have so that we can make reasonable accommodations for your meals.

Conduct and Liability

AAWCC and WHUHTS are committed to providing a welcoming and productive environment to all participants.

  • Respect the rules and policies of the meeting venue, hotels, and city.

Furthermore, by attending the 2023 AAWCC Women Hold up Half the Sky conference in Cerritos, California, USA, attendees, media, speakers, organizers, staff, and exhibitors agree to abide by and engage in conduct that is beneficial to health and that adheres to COVID-19 safety guidelines while at the event.

AAWCC and WHUHTS prohibit discrimination, harassment—sexual or otherwise—and bullying against any person for any reason. Accordingly, some behaviors are specifically prohibited:

Intimidation, stalking, harassment, unwelcome sexual attention, inappropriate photography, or discrimination.

  • Abusive, harassing, or threatening behavior.
  • Yelling at, threatening, or personally insulting participants or presenters (verbally or physically).

Participants asked to stop engaging in unacceptable behavior are expected to comply immediately.

LiabilityEach attendee agrees that:Except as required by law, neither AAWCC, WHUHTS, or its affiliates shall be liable for any direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential costs, damages, or losses arising directly or indirectly from the event/activity or other aspect related thereto.

WHUHTS may update its programming, speakers, and other pertinent details at any time.

Dr. Emerson is the Dean of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Anti-Racism, Accessibility (DEIAA) & Fiscal Stability for Coast Community College District. She took over as chair of the WHUHTS conference when Karen McLucas, former conference chair, retired in June 2018.
