WMOT ECLIPSE PARTY on the UPPER CUMBERLAND

WMOT 89.5 is a listener-supported National Public Radio (NPR) station based at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. As Middle Tennessee’s most powerful music station, WMOT has a 100,000-watt signal that reaches north to Bowling Green, Kentucky and south to the Alabama border. WMOT is located in the Center for Innovation in Media in MTSU’s College of Media and Entertainment, where students work alongside industry professionals in a dynamic, collaborative environment. WMOT features independent, American Roots programming and is dedicated to the music most deeply connected to Music City’s legacy: classic country music, bluegrass, singer/songwriter, folk, soul, R&B and old-school rock and roll. Join <A HREF="http://wmot.org/#stream/0" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">WMOT Roots Radio 89.5</A> to view the solar eclipse on August 21st! As you've probably heard by now, Tennessee is one of the best places to watch this historic event, which will be visible only in the U.S. from coast to coast for the first time in our country's history. Our friend Dr. Cris Corley, an astronomy buff and music fan, has invited us to his farm at 6890 Beasley’s Bend Road in rural Lebanon, Tennessee, far from the urban light pollution of street lights and LED signs that inhibit a clear view of solar eclipse totality. 
Live music and food trucks will add to the excitement of one of the most unique events in our solar system. Visitors are welcome to bring chairs, blankets, a picnic lunch, and coolers (no glass). NASA-compliant solar viewing glasses will be provided courtesy of Friedman’s Army Navy Store. Please dress accordingly; the weather will likely be warm and you will need to walk down a hill to the event location.
Gates open at 10:00 am and live music starts at 11:00 am. The eclipse begins at 11:58 am, and totality will occur at 1:27 pm.
This event is free for WMOT members; $20 suggested donation for non-members.
