WISE walks offer a two-hour interpretative exploration of diverse locations in Sumter and Hernando Counties. Our primary focus is to enlighten participants about local wildlife, invasive species, scat, and tracks. Additionally, we delve into the local ethnobotanical practices and recount the history of native plants at each site.

Hiking Difficulty: Easy. The trail is marked and moves in and out of sun and shade. The trail is not paved and may be wet in certain locations.

Restrooms: No restrooms on-site.

What to wear: Opt for a long-sleeved shirt and pants. Closed-toed shoes and a hat are recommended.

What to bring: Don't forget your water, a snack, sunscreen, and mosquito repellent for a comfortable experience. Look for insect repellent containing DEET, Picaridin, Oil of Lemon Eucalyptus, Citronella, IR3535 or Soybean Oil.
