ThePennypack Environmental Centerresides on the land of theLenape, and was originally dedicated as a bird sanctuary in 1958. Today, the Center has an outdoor amphitheater, exhibits, a reference library, and campfire and picnic areas. <h3>Winter Wellness</h3><h3>S Dec 16| 1-3 p.m.</h3> <h3>Nature provides us with many plants and herbs that have beneficial properties for the health of our body’s during wintertime internally and externally. Herbal salves combine these healing plants with oil and bees wax to create a semi-solid skin remedy used to soothe and hydrate the skin and promote tissue repair and wound healing. Fire Cider and pine needle tea provide nutrients to boost immunity.</h3><h3> </h3><h3>All participants will join the creation of these remedies and can choose between just learning or making a salve to take home. Teens and Adults. Free to learn. Make &amp; Take is $10/ person.</h3><h3> </h3>Parking is available at the center with additional street parking.The center, bathrooms, and picnic areas are all accessible, however, the trails are rocky and uneven.Photos will be taken of participants during this program for use by the Pennypack Environmental Center and Philadelphia Parks and Recreation.
