ThePennypack Environmental Centerresides on the land of theLenape, and was originally dedicated as a bird sanctuary in 1958. Today, the Center has an outdoor amphitheater, exhibits, a reference library, and campfire and picnic areas. <h3>Welcome winter with a peaceful walk through the Pennypack Nature Sanctuary.</h3><h3>This hike will be about 1.5 miles on uneven trails at a slower pace with frequent stops to observe and listen to wildlife.  </h3><h3>Adults Only.</h3><p>Parking is available at the center with additional street parking.  </p><p>The center, bathrooms, and picnic areas are all accessible, however, the trails are rocky and uneven. </p><p>This is an all-weather, outdoor program. Please dress for the weather and hiking.  </p><p>Photos will be taken of participants during this program for use by the Pennypack Environmental Center and Philadelphia Parks and Recreation.
